Peanut Gallery ("we", "us") is a website at peanutgallery.tv. You show it your stream, and AI peanut characters chat and talk about it. This page explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and what you can do about it. Questions go to dan@peanutgallery.tv, and a real person reads every email.
What we collect
- Your account. When you sign in with Google or Twitch, we get your email address, your display name and an account ID from that service. We never see your Google or Twitch password.
- What you show the show. While a show is running, your browser sends still pictures of the screen, window or camera you chose to us about every 9 to 45 seconds. We pass them to an AI model so the peanuts can react, then let them go. We do not save those pictures. Nothing is captured unless you start a show and pick what to share, and you can stop at any time.
- Your voice, when you use it. Talk-to-the-peanuts uses your browser's own built-in speech recognition, and we only receive the words. If you make an Echo voice, you record yourself reading a short script. We send that recording to our voice provider, which turns it into a private voice model only your account can use. We don't keep the recording after that. You can delete your Echo voice at any time from the voice picker, and that deletes it from our voice provider too.
- Twitch chat, if you connect it. If you link your Twitch channel, the show reads your channel's public chat so the peanuts can answer it.
- Things you save. Clips, images, sounds and music you choose to upload or save are stored in your account's folder until you delete them.
- Usage. How long your shows run, which plan you're on, and what each show cost us to run (AI and voice usage). We use this to apply daily limits, keep the service running and fix problems.
- Payments. If you subscribe to Premium, our payment processor handles your card. We never see or store your card number. We keep a customer ID from them and the status of your subscription.
- Bug reports and emails. What you write to us, plus the page you were on, your browser type and your screen size when you send a bug report.
- Site analytics. We use an analytics service to see how many people visit and which pages they use. It uses cookies and collects things like your browser, device and rough location.
Cookies
We use one cookie to keep you signed in. Our analytics service sets its own cookies. Your browser also stores show settings (like volume and which peanuts are on the couch) on your device. You can clear these in your browser at any time, and most ad and tracker blockers will block analytics.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your information, and we don't share it for advertising. We only share what each of these services needs to do its job:
- Hosting: the company that runs our servers and database.
- AI providers: they receive the pictures and chat needed to write each line of commentary.
- Voice providers: they turn the peanuts' lines into speech, and hold your Echo voice if you make one.
- Payment processor: handles Premium payments.
- Sign-in and analytics: the service you sign in with, and our analytics service.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect people from harm.
How long we keep it
We keep your account details and usage history while your account is open. Pictures from your screen aren't kept at all. Echo recordings aren't kept once your voice is made. Your saved clips and uploads stay until you delete them or close your account. Our payment processor keeps its own payment records as financial laws require.
Your choices
- Delete your account. Email dan@peanutgallery.tv from the address you signed in with. We'll delete your account, usage history, saved files and Echo voice within 30 days.
- Get a copy or fix something. Email us and we'll send you what we hold about you, or correct it.
- Cancel Premium any time from your dashboard (Manage subscription).
Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California), you may have more rights over your data. Email us and we'll help.
Kids
Peanut Gallery is not for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you think a child under 13 has signed up, email us and we'll delete the account.
Security
Everything travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and only the people who run Peanut Gallery can see account data. No service is perfectly secure, but we take care with what you trust us with.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If the change is a big one, we'll tell you on the site or by email before it takes effect.
